
The 2024 World Malaria Day celebration held on Thursday, May 23 in Owerri, Imo State was sponsored by Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Bracehall Nigeria Limited, a humanitarian organisation through its Secretary Barr. Enesiya Oruambo packaged the event which featured malaria awareness campaign within the capital city of Imo State, where Imo residents were sensitised on the dangers of malaria, preventive measures through the use of treated mosquito net and regular check-up with standard hospital.
The event also featured health talk / interactive session which had medical practitioners educate the people about malaria.
NDDC has been intervening on health matters within Niger Delta region for many years and its interest has always being the well-being of the people of Niger Delta.
As a regular NDDC intervention activity, the World Malaria Day celebration will be held in all the nine states of Niger Delta.
The event was graced by Mr. Nwelue Kelechi who represented the Managing Director / CEO of NDDC, Mrs. Enyia Nwakamma, Ugoeze Ogechi Akopunwanne, Dr. Ugochukwu Silver, Dr. Christopher, Obasi Miriam and a host of participants.
The highlight of the celebration had participants tested for malaria related health issues, drugs administered to those with malaria symptoms while mosquito nets were distributed to all.
