Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia has clarified that she does not see herself as a single mother despite her separation from her estranged husband, music star 2Baba.
The actress explained that she prefers to describe herself as a single woman raising her children rather than a single mother.
Taking to her Instagram page, Annie wrote: “I’m not a single mom. I’m a single woman raising two kids.”
Her comment comes months after 2Baba announced in January 2025 that he and Annie had separated and that he had begun divorce proceedings. The singer revealed at the time that their marriage had been struggling for a long period.
Weeks after the announcement, the singer publicly introduced Natasha Osawaru as his new partner.
Following the separation news, Annie initially removed the Idibia surname from her social media profiles but later restored it.
The couple married in 2012 and share two daughters, Isabella and Olivia. Their 13-year relationship was often under public scrutiny and marked by several personal challenges.
Currently, Annie is caring for their two daughters.
