Be Thankful

I woke up this morning sober, as my mind drifted into space, unconsciously reflecting on all I’ve been through this year, slowly my hands levitated, swinging from side to side as words of thanks poured from my lips to my maker for bringing me thus far, in spite of all.

Of a truth, many began the year, some now in deplorable state, while others not alive to see this day. A challenging year it has been for all, especially me, having to deal with the death of my mother amidst other blows which nearly overwhelmed me, but here I am, standing strong, grateful and hopeful for better days ahead and grace to overcome each day.

I may never know what trials you are being faced with, but one thing is certain, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Being here till this very moment, you are a survivor and victor, for life will surely throw us challenges, but it’s important we understand that how we see these, is key to how we deal with them, and this is our sole responsibility.

A sudden rush of wind streamed through my window, lifting my curtain slightly, as cool air brushed over my skin, jerking me back to reality, then I looked out of the window, my eyes lit with new found gratitude, lips curve in a smile as if to say finally! Harmattan is here, this only meant one thing, Christmas!. I shut my eyes and inhaled the cool breeze and once again I am grateful for life.

Now the yuletide is here, let’s make the best of the season, get rid of every negativity, forgive wrong deeds from another, lend a helping hand to the needy, adhere to rules and regulations in your state and locality, stay out of trouble, spread love all around you and most of all, be thankful to God.

With Love,
